Reaction Steps
The 4-nitro-cinnamonitrile thus obtained is then reduced by the Bechamp reaction in 2000 parts of water and 800 parts of ethyl alcohol. 4-amino-cinnamonitrile which melts at 109°-110° C. is thus obtained. Yield: 76%.
