Reaction Steps
A solution of 30.0 g of 21-acetoxy-17α-hydroxy-6α,16β-dimethyl-4,9(11)-pregnadiene-3,20-dione in 800 ml of dioxane is reacted with 30.0 g of dichlorodicyanobenzoquinone analogously to Example 6(A), worked up and purified, yielding 12.0 g of 21-acetoxy-17α-hydroxy-6α,16β-dimethyl-1,4,9(11)-pregnatriene-3,20-dione, mp 215°-216° C.
