Reaction Steps

A mixture of 3-(pyridin-4-yl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole-5(4H)-thione (2 g, 11.2 mmol), 3-bromoprop-1-yne (1.47 g, 12.3 mmol) and sodium acetate (5.34 g, 65.1 mmol) in DMF (20 mL) was stirred for 6 h at room temperature. The reaction mixture was then poured into water (50 mL) and extracted with DCM. The combined organic layers were washed with water three times, dried with Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to obtain the title compound (1.5 g).
