A mixture of 12B (45 g, 0.193 mol) and sodium acetate (3 g) in Ac2O (200 mL) was heated to reflux overnight. The reaction mixture was evaporated under reduced pressure to remove Ac2O. The residue was poured into water and stirred for 1 hour. The precipitated solids were collected by filtration and dried to give 12C (40 g, 69.1% yield).
