To a solution of (S)-3-(1-(2-chloro-3-nitropyridin-4-ylamino)ethyl)-2-phenyl-8-(trifluoromethyl) isoquinolin-1 (2H)-one III-33 (500 mg, 1.0 mmol, 1 eq) in MeOH (10 mL), sodium hydrosulphide (69 g, 1.29 mmol, 1.2 eq) was added and the resulting mixture was stirred at reflux for 2 h. The mixture was allowed to cool to RT and then concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel (2-3% MeOH-DCM) to afford the product, (S)-3-(1-(2-mercapto-3-nitropyridin-4-ylamino) ethyl)-2-phenyl-8-(trifluoromethyl)isoquinolin-1(2H)-one III-34.
