Over a solution of 5 (3.8 g, 11 mmol) in anhydrous EtOH, NaBH4 was carefully added (2.61 g, 68 mmol). The resulting solution was stirred at 40° C. for 24 h. then the reaction was quenched with H2O. EtOH was rotovaped down half the total volume, extracted with EtOAc (5×) dried with NaSO4 and the solvent was evaporated to obtain 90% of a white solid as the product.
