A portion of the raw N-(7-amino-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrano[3,2-b]pyridin-3-yl)propionamide (100 mg, 0.45 mmol) was dissolved in CH2Cl2/pyridine 9/1 (20 ml) and 4-(trifluoromethoxy)benzenesulfonyl chloride (100 μl, 0.58 mmol) was added dropwise. After stirring at room temperature over night, the reaction mixture was concentrated and the purification of the residue by chromatography on silica gel (CH2Cl2:CH3OH, 97:3) gave the title compound (94 mg, 47% for steps 31.4 and 31.5) as a gum.
