Reaction Steps

According to the procedure described in Example 6A Step 3, a mixture of methyl 4-methoxy-5-(2-methoxyethoxy)-2-nitrobenzoate (3.67 g, 12.9 mmol) and Pd/C (10%, 0.4 g) in EtOAc (60 mL) was stirred under 1 atmosphere of hydrogen at room temperature overnight, to afford methyl 2-amino-4-methoxy-5-(2-methoxyethoxy)benzoate as a solid (3.05 g, 93%). 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 7.15 (s, 1H), 6.46 (s, 2H), 6.36 (s, 1H), 3.91 (m, 2H), 3.75 (s, 3H), 3.74 (s, 3H), 3.59 (m, 2H), 3.32 (s, 3H).
