Coupling of cyclopentylmethanol (0.22 g, 2.4 mmol) with compound 58 (0.56 g, 2 mmol) following the method used in Example 2 gave 2-(3-(3-(cyclopentylmethoxy)phenyl)propyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione as a colorless oil. Yield (0.29 g, 40%): 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.78-7.83 (m, 2H), 7.66-7.72 (m, 2H), 7.13 (t, J=7.8 Hz, 1H), 6.71-6.77 (m, 2H), 6.66 (ddd, J=0.6, 2.5, 8.0 Hz), 3.78 (d, J=7.0 Hz, 2H), 3.74 (t, J=7.0 Hz, 2H), 2.65 (t, J=7.6 Hz, 2H), 2.28-2.38 (m, 1H), 1.98-2.07 (m, 2H), 1.77-1.87 (m, 2H), 1.52-1.66 (m, 4H), 1.30-1.40 (m, 2H).
