Cyclohexane, (bromomethyl)- → 2-Bromo-5-(cyclohexylmethoxy)benzaldehyde
Reaction equation
[Br:1][C:2]1[CH:9]=[CH:8][C:7]([OH:10])=[CH:6][C:3]=1[CH:4]=[O:5].Br[CH2:12][CH:13]1[CH2:18][CH2:17][CH2:16][CH2:15][CH2:14]1>>[Br:1][C:2]1[CH:9]=[CH:8][C:7]([O:10][CH2:12][CH:13]2[CH2:18][CH2:17][CH2:16][CH2:15][CH2:14]2)=[CH:6][C:3]=1[CH:4]=[O:5]Participants

Procedure
Alkylation of 2-bromo-5-hydroxybenzaldehyde using (bromomethyl)cyclohexane following the method used in Example 1 gave 2-bromo-5-(cyclohexylmethoxy)benzaldehyde. The crude aldehyde was used in the subsequent reaction.
