NaBH4 (0.124 g, 3.28 mmol was added to a solution of 3-(8-(tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)quinolin-2-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine-7-carbaldehyde (1.328 g, 3.283 mmol) in MeOH (20 mL) at 0° C. The cold bath was removed and the reaction allowed to warm to ambient temperature over 1 hour. HCl was added and the solution was concentrated. The residue was triturated with DCM. The resulting solid was filtered and concentrated to provide the crude product.
