2-Hydrazinyl-4-methylpyridine (0.280 g, 2.27 mmol) and 8-(tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy)quinoline-2-carbaldehyde (0.653 g, 2.27 mmol) were suspended in EtOH (6 mL) and stirred overnight at ambient temperature. The resulting suspension was filtered and the solid was washed with cold EtOH and dried in vacuo to provide the title compound (0.720 g; 81%).
