To a stirred solution of (R)-quinuclidin-3-yl((S)-(3-(2-((4-(hydroxymethyl)-phenyl)amino)-2-oxoethoxy)phenyl)(phenyl)methyl)carbamate (0.68 g, 1.31 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (10 mL) was added manganese (IV) oxide (0.57 g, 6.58 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 60 hours. The suspension was filtered and the filter cake was washed with ethyl acetate. The filtrate was evaporated at reduced pressure to afford the crude title compound. This material was used without further purification.
