Reaction Steps
To a stirred solution of compound 11 (100 mg, 0.21 mmol) in THF (4.0 mL) at room temperature, a solution of lithium hydroxide (44 mg, 1.05 mmol) in water (4.0 mL) was added and stirring continued for 2 h. On completion, solvent was removed, diluted with water (20 mL) and washed with ether (30 mL×3). The aqueous layer was acidified with 1N HCl and extracted with 10% methanol in dichloromethane (50 mL×3). Combined organic layer was washed brine, dried over sodium sulphate and concentrated. The crude product after ether and pentane washing furnished the title compound 12 (30 mg, 31%).
