Reaction Steps
Intermediate e (3 g, 0.012 mol) was added to thionyl chloride (10 V/W, 30 mL). The mixture was warmed up to react under reflux for 6 h. The solvent was evaporated off to produce a clear yellow crystal (2.8 g) in a yield of 87.5%.
