Mitsunobu reaction of phenol 58 with 4-methoxybutanol gave 2-(3-(3-(4-methoxybutoxy)phenyl)propyl)isoindoline-1,3-dione as yellow oil. Yield (0.840 g, 66%): 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.80-7.85 (m, 2H), 7.68-7.72 (m, 2H), 7.11-7.17 (m, 1H), 6.72-6.79 (m, 2H), 6.65 (dd, J=8.2, 2.4 Hz, 1H), 3.95 (t, J=6.2 Hz, 2H), 3.75 (t, J=6.8 Hz, 2H), 3.44 (t, J=6.4 Hz, 2H), 3.35 (s, 3H), 2.65 (t, J=7.2 Hz, 2H), 1.98-2.06 (m, 2H), 1.70-1.86 (m, 4H).
