A mixture comprising {2-[(3,5-diamino-6-chloro-pyrazine-2-carbonyl)-amino]-ethyl}-methyl-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester in DCM:TFA (60 mL of a 5:1 DCM/TFA solution) is stirred at RT for 3 h. The solvent is removed in vacuo and the resulting yellow oil is dissolved in water with heating. Any undissolved material is removed by filtration and the filtrate is concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound. [M+H]+245.
