Reaction Steps
To [3-(4-fluoro-2-hydroxymethyl-phenoxy)-phenyl]-acetic acid ethyl ester (0.35 g, 1.15 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane was added phosphorus tribromide (0.14 mL, 1.49 mmol), and the reaction was stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. After work-up, 0.3 g of the desired product was obtained.
