{3-[4-(2,2-Dimethyl-propionylamino)-2-(2-oxo-oxazolidin-3-ylmethyl)-phenoxy]-4-methoxy-phenyl}-acetic acid ethyl ester (0.57 mmol) was dissolved in MeOH and H2O, and treated with 1N aqueous LiOH. The reaction was stirred overnight at 65° C., and the mixture was then acidified and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated, and the residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound.
