Reaction Steps

To a solution of N-(2-t-butoxycarbonylaminophenyl)-4-pyridin-3-ylbenzamide (2.0 g, 5.1 mmol) (Method 3) in ethanol (20 ml) was added PtO2 (200 mg) and the resulting mixture was heated at 80° C. under an atmosphere of hydrogen at 80 Bar for 16 hours. The mixture was allowed to cool and was filtered and evaporated to afford (RS)—N-(2-t-butoxycarbonylaminophenyl)-4-piperidin-3-ylbenzamide (1.9 g, 94%).
