To a solution of 8-(4-benzyloxy-phenyl)-1,3-dipropyl-7-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-3,7-dihydro-purine-2,6-dione (0.500 g, 0.91 mmol) in methanol (10 ml), 10% Pd/C (0.150 g) was added and stirred at room temperature under hydrogen atmosphere for 2 hours. The mixture was filtered, solvent was removed and the residue was washed with hexane to obtain 8-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)-1,3-dipropyl-7-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-3,7-dihydro-purine-2,6-dione as a white solid (0.398 g, 95%).
