A mixture of 8-{1-[4-(4-Methyl-piperazin-1-yl)-but-2-ynyl]-1H-pyrazol-4-yl}-1,3-dip ropyl-7-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-3,7-dihydro-purine-2,6-dione (0.105 g, 0.180 mmol), 2N HCl (2 ml), ethanol (4 ml) was heated at 85° C. for 2 hours. The mixture was cooled and solvent was evaporated. The residue was triturated with diethyl ether and purified by preparative TLC to obtain pure 8-{1-[4-(4-Methyl-piperazin-1-yl)-but-2-ynyl]-1H-pyrazol-4-yl}-1,3-dipropyl-3,7-dihydro-purine-2,6-dione (0.042 g, 52%).
