{4-[2,6-Dioxo-1,3-dipropyl-7-(2-trimethylsilanyl-ethoxymethyl)-2,3,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-purin-8-yl]-pyrazol-1-yl}-acetic acid (350 mg, 0.71 mmol) was taken with thionyl chloride (25 ml) and refluxed for 3 hrs. The volatiles were evaporated to obtain [4-(2,6-dioxo-1,3-dipropyl-2,3,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-purin-8-yl)-pyrazol-1-yl]-acetyl chloride (400 mg) as a yellow solid.
