Reaction Steps

To a solution of the title product of Example 66 (145 mg, 0.408 mmol) in acetone (10 ml) at 0° C. was added in a dropwise fashion Jones' Reagent (2.67M, 0.39 ml, 1.0 mmol). After stirring for 2 hours at room temperature, the reaction was quenched by the addition of isopropanol (1 ml) followed by water (20 ml), and stirred 10 minutes. The blue solution was decanted and extracted with EtOAc (2×20 ml). The combined organic layers were washed with water (20 ml), brine (20 ml), dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated to afford the present title product (129 mg, 90%); m.p. 120°-122° C.
