Reaction Steps
The compound of Example 13 (160 mg, 0.2877 mmol) was added to 2 ml of methanol and 432μl of 1 M lithium hydroxide was added. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed under vacuum, water (5.0 ml) was added and the solution was acidified with I0% hydrochloric acid then extracted times with ethyl acetate. The combined extracts were dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and filtered. The solvent was removed under vacuum to give a gum. Further drying under high vacuum overnight gave the product.
