Procedure
1.5 g (0.006 mole) of 5,6-dihydro-5-thioxopyrazolo-[1,5-c]quinazoline-2-carboxylic acid (prepared as described in Example 1) and 1.26 g (1 equivalent) of phosphorus pentachloride are heated together in 50 ml of methylene chloride at 60° for 30 minutes. The reaction mixture is cooled and the solvent stripped off and replaced with 50 ml of dry pyridine. The solution is treated with 1.1 ml of absolute ethanol and refluxed under N2 for 2 hours.
