α,2,3,4,5,6-Hexafluorobenzyl 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate was prepared from 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid and α-bromopentafluorobenzyl fluoride following the procedure described in Example 2 Method B. The product, a colourless oil, was characterised by p.m.r. spectroscopy. Chemical shift δ ppm (solvent CDCl3): 1.0-2.5(8H, m, (CH3)2 and cyclopropyl protons); 5.67 and 6.24(1H, both d of d, J=8Hz and J=2Hz, CH=); 7.53(1H, d, J=52Hz, CHF).
