Procedure

2,4,6-Trimethylaniline is reacted with 1,2-epoxypropane as described in Example 3, Method (b), point (a) to obtain N-(β-hydroxy-propyl)-2,4,6-trimethyl-aniline with a yield of 45.1%, b.p.: 130°-135° C./0.4 mm Hg.
