The title compound was prepared by reacting 6-bromo-8-fluoro-2-naphthol (0.39 g, 1.62 mmol) with 4-methoxyphenyl boronic acid (0.34 g, 2.27 mmol) according to method A to yield 0.35 g (81%) of a white solid: mp 150-151° C.; 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 3.81 (3H, s), 7.05 (2H, d, J=8.75 Hz), 7.16-7.20,(2H, m), 7.57 (1H, dd, J=1.21 Hz, J=12.76 Hz), 7.74 (2H, d, J=8.74 Hz), 7.89-7.92 (2H, m), 10.10 (1H, s); MS (ESI) m/z269 (M−H)+.
