Reaction Steps

To a mixture of 1-benzoyl-3-(11-oxo-10,11-dihydro-dibenzo[b,f][1,4]oxazepin-2-yl)-thiourea (Example 15) in 15 mL of THF was added 1.0 mL of 2.0 N aqueous sodium hydroxide. The resulting solution was heated for 3 hr under reflux. The mixture was concentrated and the residue was triturated with 50 mL of a 10% THF:90% dichloromethane solution. The solid was filtered and washed with 30 mL of water (yield 201 mg, 78%). H1 NMR (CDCl3) δ: 10.3 (bs, 1H), 7.74-7.61 (m, 3H), 7.28-7.15 (m, 3H), MS (ES): MH+ 286.1.
