Procedure

The compound obtained in Example 21 is dissolved in methanol and 0.25 equivalents of sodium borohydride are added. The reaction mixture is stirred at ambient temperature for 24 hours, then the methanol is evaporated off in vacuo and the resulting residue is purified by flash chromatography using an ethyl acetate/cyclohexane mixture as eluant. The title compound obtained in that way is recrystallised from isopropyl ether.

Workup

  1. customthe methanol is evaporated off in vacuo
  2. customthe resulting residue is purified by flash chromatography
