To a solution of (4-chloro-phenyl)-[3-(6-isopropyl-quinolin-8-yl)-phenyl]-methanol from Step 1 (1.0 g, 2.58 mmol) in benzene (7 mL) at 0° C. was added SOCl2 (0.375 mL, 5.2 mmol) dropwise.
