Reaction Steps

4-(4′-Chloro-biphenyl-4-yloxymethyl)-thiazole-2-carboxylic acid was prepared using general procedure B from 4-chloro-4′-hydroxybiphenyl (available from TCI America, Portland, Oreg.) and 4-chloromethyl-thiazole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (Intermediate 4). Yield: 71 mg. Mass spectrum (ES) MH+=346.
