2.0 g of N-[2-hydroxy-3-(1-piperidinyl)propoxy]-benzimidoyl-chloride hydrochloride is dissolved in 10 ml of thionylchloride, then the solution is boiled for 2 hours. The thionylchloride is distilled off; the evaporation residue is taken up in 50 ml of methanol, then evaporated. The light yellow evaporation residue (m=2.48 g) is dissolved in 12.5 ml of ethanol and crystallized with 50 ml of ether. The separated precipitate is filtered off, and washed with a mixture of ethanol/ether.
