Reaction Steps

The compound (15.8 g, 41.3 mmol) synthesized in Example 1 (1g) was dissolved in trifluoroacetic acid:water (4:1, 160 mL) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 minutes. After water (200 mL) was added to the reaction mixture at 0° C. and the mixture was extracted with methylene chloride (300 mL), the organic layer was washed with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate (200 mL) and saturated brine (200 mL) and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, followed by distilling off of the solvent under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in ethanol (150 mL) and the compound obtained by dissolving sodium borohydride (0.78 g, 20.7 mmol) in water (15 mL) was added thereto, followed by stirring of the mixture at 0° C. for 20 minutes. After saturated aqueous ammonium chloride (20 mL) was added to the reaction mixture at 0° C., ethanol was distilled off under reduced pressure. After water (100 mL) was added thereto and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (100 mL), the organic layer was washed with saturated brine (100 mL) and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, followed by distilling off of the solvent under reduced pressure. The residue was purified using silica gel flash column chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate, 1:1, V/V) to obtain the desired title compound (14.2 g, yield 89%) as a colorless oil.
