The title compound was prepared from 4-methylthiobenzonitrile (18.46 g, 123 mmol) and 2,4-dimethylaniline (15 g, 123 mmol) by following the procedure described in preparation 10 (25.17 g, yield 75.2%, purity 99% by HPLC). 1H-NMR (CDCl3):δ 2.16 (s, 3H), 2.31 (s, 3H), 2.53 (s, 3H), 4.5 (bs, 2H, D2O exchangeable), 6.76-6.78 (d, 1H), 6.98-7.0 (d, 1H), 7.05 (s, 1H), 7.27-7.31 (m, 2H), 7.81-7.83 (d, 2H). MS m/z:271.3 (M+).
