The title compound was prepared from benzonitrile (0.96 g, 9 mmol) and 4-methylaniline (1 g, 9 mmol) by following the procedure described in preparation 10 (1.08 g, yield 55%, purity 98.42% by HPLC). 1H-NMR (CDCl3):δ 2.33 (s, 3H), 5 (bs, 2H, D2O exchangeable), 6.89-6.91 (d, 2H), 7.15-7.17 (d, 2H), 7.44-7.46 (m, 3H), 8 (bs, 2H). MS m/z:211.2 (M+).
