This compound was prepared by using the same procedure as described for 4-(3-fluoro-benzyl)-7-hydroxy-5-oxo-4,5-dihydro-thieno[3,2-b]pyridine-6-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (15) by using diisopropyl malonate. 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 1.30 (d, J=6.4 Hz, 6H), 5.17 (m, 1H), 5.36 (s, 2H), 7.08 (m, 3H), 7.31 (m, 2H), 8.15 (dd, J=2.4, 5.2 Hz, 1H), 13.41 (b, 1H) ppm; EIMS m/z 362 (M+1).
