Procedure

10.0 parts by weight of 2-butyryl-5-[2-(1,3-dioxan-2-yl)-ethyl]-cyclohexane-1,3-dione were dissolved in 150 parts by volume of ethanol, 3.72 parts by weight of allyloxyammonium chloride and 3.03 parts by weight of anhydrous sodium acetate were added, and the mixture was stirred at 20° C. for 20 hours. The suspension was then stirred into ice-water and extracted with methylene chloride. The organic phase was concentrated to give 11.5 parts by weight of 2-(1-allyloxyaminobutylidene)-5-[2-(1,3-dioxan-2-yl)-ethyl]-cyclohexane-1,3-dione (compound No. 2) as a solid having the following structure (melting point: 50°-52° C.): ##STR8##
