A two necked flask was charged under argon with rhodium(acac)bis ethylene (0.239 g, 0.05 eq.), (R)-BINAP (0.575 g, 0.05 eq.) and 3,4-difluoro-phenylboronic acid (7.3 g, 2.5 eq.). 400 mL of MeOH and 40 mL of H2O were added followed by 1-(1-benzyl-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrol-3-yl)-ethanone (3.72 g). The reaction mixture was heated at 55° C. for 8 hours, cooled down to RT and concentrated under vacuo. Purification by flash chromatography (SiO2, EtOAc/Heptane 2/1) afforded 2.31 g (40%) of the title product as a light yellow oil. ES-MS m/e: 316.1 (M+H+).
