A suspension of compound (2) (50 mg; 0.095 mmol) in MeONa/MeOH 0.2 M (5 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours. During such period of time the suspension became a colourless solution and the TLC (DCM/MeOH 90:10) showed the complete disappearance of the starting amide, and the presence of a new spot at lower Rf. The solution was neutralised with Dowex ion exchange resin. The resin was filtered off and washed twice with MeOH (5 ml). The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and purified by flash chromatography using MeOH/DCM 10:90 as eluent which gave the title compound as a white solid (38 mg, 90%). Rf: 0.66 in DCM/MeOH 90:10.
