Reaction Steps

To a solution of 1-[4-(4-chloro-pyridin-2-yl)-thiophen-2-yl]-ethanol (100 mg, 0.42 mmol) in dichloromethane (3 mL) was added PCC (111 mg, 0.5 mmol). The resulting mixture was stirred for 3 hours and then passed through Celite®. The filtrated was washed with water and the organic layer was concentrated. The resulting residue was purified by silica gel column to yield 1-[4-(4-chloro-pyridin-2-yl)-thiophen-2-yl]-ethanone
