The title compound was prepared in accordance with the general method described in Example 1(c) using 6-amino-1-(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)-2-thioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrimidin-4-one (0.50 g, 2.27 mmol, obtained from Example 2(a)), sodium nitrite (0.17 g, 2.50 mmol) and sodium dithionite (0.99 g, 5.68 mmol), with the exception that the reaction time was 1 h at r.t. after the addition of sodium dithionite. The crude title compound was obtained as a solid (0.376 g, 66%).
