Reaction Steps

To a solution of 2-({4-[2-(heptylamino)ethyl]-1,3-thiazol-2-yl}thio)-2-methylpropionic acid tert-butyl ester (2.5 g) synthesized in Example 303-2 in dichloromethane (20 mL) was added dropwise 9H-fluorene-9-ylmethyloxycarbonylisothiocyanate (2.5 g), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and subjected to silica gel chromatography (elution solvent; hexane:ethyl acetate=4:1) to give the title compound (3.1 g) as a pale-brown solid.
