Heat a solution of 4-(2-pyridin-2-yl-5,6-dihydro-4H-pyrrolo[1,2-b]pyrazol-3-yl)-7-[2-(tetrahydropyran-2-yloxy)ethoxy]quinoline (421 mg, 0.92 mmol) in acetic acid:tetrahydrofuran:water (4:2:1) (20 mL). Remove the solvent in vacuo and recover the residue with chloroform:isopropyl (3:1). Wash the organic layer with saturated sodium bicarbonate and dry over sodium sulfate. Concentrate in vacuo. The residue will be pure enough for the next step in the scheme (425 mg, 100%). MS ES+ m/e 373.1 (M+1).
