Procedure

To a 2 ml ethanol solution of 100 mg (0.28 mmol) of the compound obtained in Example 9, 1 ml of a 1M aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide was added, and the mixture was stirred at 90° C. for 10 hours. Then, the reaction mixture was brought to room temperature, water was added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and a saturated aqueous solution of sodium chloride. After the washed layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate=2/1) to obtain 68.5 mg (72%) of the captioned compound.
