Procedure
To a dried round bottom flask was added methanol (12 mL), the product of Example 84 (0.630 g; 1.21 mmol), and 3N aq. NaOH (2.42 mL, 7.26 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated at 50° C. and stirred for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature. The methanol was removed in vacuo. The pH of the reaction mixture was adjusted with 2N aq. HCl solution to pH=5-6, and it was extracted with methylene chloride (5×). The combined extracts were dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to afford the desired product: m/e=508 (M+3); Rt=4.29 min on LCMS.
