Procedure
To a solution of 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5,6-diphenyl-3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one (68 mg, 0.2 mmol) in CHCl3 (1 mL) was added ClSO3H (35 mg, 0.3 mmol). The mixture was heated to 50° C. overnight. The residue was purified by prep-HPLC to give Compound 123 as a white power (6 mg, 7%). 1H NMR (MeOH-d4 500 MHz): δ 7.75 (d, J=7.5 Hz, 1H), 7.38 (d, J=7 Hz, 1H), 7.30 (m, 2H), 7.24 (t, J=1, 5 Hz, 3H), 7.01 (t, J=3.5, 5 Hz, 3H), 6.87 (m, 3H), 5.23 (s, 1H); MS (ESI): m/z 423.0 [M+1]+.
