(S)-ethyl 2-(6-cyano-3-methyl-1(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)-naphthalen-2-yl)-2-(tert-pentyloxy)acetate was prepared in a similar way to (S)-ethyl 2-tert-butoxy-2-(6-cyano-3-methyl-1-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)naphthalen-2-yl)acetate in Example 5 except tert-amyl acetate was used instead of tert-butyl acetate. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) 8.18 (s, 1H), 8.13 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H), 7.73 (s, 1H), 7.71 (d, J=8.9 Hz, 1H), 5.73 (s, 1H), 4.27-4.08 (m, 2H), 2.59 (s, 3H), 1.62-1.43 (m, 2H), 1.20 (s, 3H), 1.17 (t, J=7.2 Hz, 3H), 1.08 (s, 3H), 0.77 (t, J=7.4 Hz, 3H).
