2-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-N-{4-[2-(4-bromo-phenyl)-2-hydroxy-acetylamino]-phenyl}-2-hydroxy-acetamide (18.00 g, 33.70 mmol) (1.1) is added to concentrated sulfuric acid (180 cm3) at 21° C. in a 500 cm3 round-bottom flask. After 18 hours stirring, the reaction mixture is poured onto ice and filtered off. The recovered precipitate is washed with water and dried for 18 hours at 80° C. in a vacuum oven. The crude product is used without further purification (13.88 g, Yield: 83%).
